At her core, Mary is both a storyteller and a problem solver with an affinity for helping small businesses and entrepreneurs succeed.

Cleveland, Chicago, Bloomington, Denver.. and Back to Chicago

Mary started her career working in the ‘medical mecca of the Midwest,' where she managed community and media relations, employee communications, special events and government affairs for two Cleveland-area hospitals. After serving as editor of a local women’s magazine, she went on to work for both PR and ad agencies building brands in the aerospace, tourism and financial services industries.

Next, she founded MRH Public Relations and began working as the de facto marketing director for a $1.6 billion Northeast Ohio bank, managing customer and employee communications and earning local and national media coverage for the 13-branch financial institution.

She left her native Ohio and spent three years in the fabulous Chicago suburb of Evanston and then moved to Bloomington, Indiana. Landing clients including the Midwest Proton Therapy Institute, the American College of Radiology (ACR) the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) and the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) enabled Mary to return to her roots in healthcare and medicine.

For the ACR Bulletin and RSNA News, both of which serve radiologists, Mary has covered scientific advances as well as the news on the business of medical imaging, including stories on the risks of defensive medicine, brain imaging, early detection of Alzheimer’s disease and the use of CT to uncover the secrets of ancient artifacts.

In addition to researching and writing content for SNMMI’s award-winning website DiscoverMI and expanding patient education content on, she has helped staff the pressroom at the annual RSNA scientific assembly for more than a decade.

As a principal writer for the Better World Project of the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM), Mary has honed her ability to simplify and explain complicated scientific topics, crafting more than 30 tech transfer stories in a broad array of industries, from pharma and medicine to horticulture and iPhone apps.

Most recently, Mary led a multi-year marketing program for food tech startup 915 Labs including brand building, social media management, marketing/sales support and media relations.
